Privacy Policy

Tradie is software for UK construction subcontractors, provided by Oleksii Kizyma, a sole trader based at 46 Hatherley Road, Sidcup, DA14 4AU ("we", "us"). We are the data controller for the information described below.

Almost everything Tradie is for stays on your phone. Your day rate, the days you log, your invoices, your UTR and your bank details are stored on the device and are never uploaded to us. We could not show them to anyone if we wanted to, because we do not have them.

What we do hold is the small amount needed to run your account: who you are, how to reach you, and whether your subscription is active.

The following never leaves your device unless you send it yourself:

• Your day rate and tax percentage
• The days you log, site addresses and work descriptions
• Labourers you record and what you paid them
• Every invoice you create, and the PDF of it
• Your UTR, sort code, account number and bank name
• Your year-end income summaries
• Anything in the Reference tab

• We do not sell your data, and never will.
• We do not track you across other apps or websites.
• We do not run advertising, or share anything with advertisers.
• We do not use analytics that profile your behaviour.
• We do not use cookies for tracking on gettradie.co.uk.

Each is bound by its own data-processing terms. Where data is handled outside the UK, the transfer relies on the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or equivalent safeguards.

• Contract — holding your account details and running your subscription, so we can give you what you signed up for.
• Legitimate interests — keeping the service secure, stopping abuse of free trials, and supporting you when you ask.
• Legal obligation — keeping payment records for as long as UK tax law requires.

We do not rely on consent for any of the above, so there is nothing to withdraw — but you can close your account at any time.

• Account details — while your account exists, then up to 12 months, in case you come back.
• Payment records — six years, as UK tax law requires.
• Failed sign-in attempts — 30 days, kept only to block guessing.
• Anything on your phone — for as long as you keep it. Settings → Erase all data removes it completely, and we cannot recover it, because we never had it.

Under UK GDPR you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or object to our using it. You can also ask for it in a portable format.

Note that most of what Tradie holds about your work is on your own device, so a data request to us returns only your account record — the rest is already in your hands.

If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Your account data is held in an access-controlled database. The app talks to it over HTTPS only. Your activation key is stored in the iOS Keychain, not in ordinary storage. Repeated failed attempts to guess a key are rate-limited.

No system is perfect. If something goes wrong that affects you, we will tell you and the ICO within 72 hours, as the law requires.

Tradie is for people working in construction and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will email you before it takes effect. The date at the top always shows the current version.
